Al Stewart

Al Stewart joined Louis Prima in 1947, and Ray McKinley in early 1948.  He also went with Benny Goodman's "Benny Swings To Bop" band from late 1948 to 1950.  He played at President Truman's Inauguration January 20, 1949, as well as played on the Benny Goodman/Louis Armstrong 1953 All Star Jazz Concert Tour.  

Some of the people Al played or recorded for are: Maynard Ferguson, Claude Thornhill, Dizzy Gillespie, Johnny Richards, Neal Hefti, Billy May, Freddie Martin, Charlie Barnet, Woody Herman and recorded an album with Charlie Parker, Machito along with many others.

Al did a tour with Judy Garland and Gordon Jenkins as well as playing in the early Miss America Pageants.  

Al has also played and recorded for Tony Bennett, Steve and Edie, Rosemary Cloony, Johnny Mathis, Lena Horne, Bobby Darin, Della Reese, Eddie Fisher and many more artists.

Al has also played in multiple different Broadway shows, some of them are: How to Succeed in Business, West Side Story (Lincoln Center), Sail Away (Noel Coward), Woman of the Year (Lauren Bacall), Sweet Charity (Gwen Verdon), Wildcat (Lucille Ball) plus many more.

Al has also played on the following TV Shows: Jackie Gleason Show, Ed SUllivan Show, a number of Johnny Carson shows as well as many more.

Al has also recorded two albums as artist for RCA " Al Stewart's Museum of Modern Brass".
